My wife and I were traveling through the Minneapolis airport when we passed by a store with a few remarkable lamps in the window made from old plumbing parts. Really cool. A small card next to the item highlighted the work as “Steampunk Lamps”, by one Bryan Skaudis of Apple Valley Designs, LLC in Minneapolis, MN. Rather than purchasing the lamp at the airport, we decided to call Bryan instead, and here is where the story really begins.

After a quick internet search, we tracked down Bryan’s number. True it was a Sunday, but he actually picked up. During the conversation, we also identified that not only did he create amazing lamps, but wonderful, one of a kind furniture as well. Over the next several days, Bryan sent photos of different parts with which to make the lamp. Additionally, by then, we had decided to go ahead with a custom hutch built around a beautiful vintage 1960’s ford pickup tailgate- Amazing. He sent pictures at every step of construction and included us in all of the important decisions (parts, colors, stains, etc.)

This exemplary work was accomplished in little over two month’s time and sent to us.
